Sentimental (Precipice)

Sentimental (Precipice)
Happens so often the will must be fought
Because the more a thing's wanted, the less that it's got
And over the hours of turning inside-out
To stumble upon the occasional doubt
Doesn't prevent it when I'm in for a fall
However plain the writing on the wall
Steering clear is well within one's control
And a self-destructive motive undeniable, reliable

Happiness offers a positive thrill
But it doesn't always leave a body fulfilled
This is not meant to bring anyone down
Or conflict with the cases you may have found
Lucky the break that I need to forsake
If I'm trying to make the best of it
Maybe the line's not satisfyingly fine
Until it's strung out across the precipice

Make a mental:
If she's gentle it's just accidental
There's no riddle
When you look up with discerning eyes
And count up all of the warning signs

Hypervental, head like a red hot kettle
Score to settle, maybe she's sentimental
Claws of metal tend to be detrimental
While the faithful say it's inconsequential
Maybe she's sentimental, maybe she's sentimental
